Formation of new ideas in the field of the celestial mechanics conducted in the Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine (1920-1939)

Abstract

The Pioners' attempts to construct a contemporary picture of the Universe, in which some of the forces of gravity are emitted by the electromagnetic forces, were made at the Institute of Mathematics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. In the 20 years of the last century, the academician D.O. Grave and his students conducted an investigation of the influence of electric and magnetic forces on the motion of the planets of the solar system. The article is devoted to the account of the results of these little-known studies.
