Abstract

The paper considers an approach to control the mechanical system “reservoir–liquid with a free surface“ providing the system to move by a prescribed trajectory. Due to a multimodal method to the sloshing liquid adapted, the approximate governing equations of the system have twelve (12) degrees of freedom. The control action contains two components, i.e., the program control and the feedback control. For the feedback control coefficients, analytical dependencies are found in an explicit form. The quality of transient processes in the controlled system is analysed.
