Program control of a reservoir with liquid by using the Gauss principle of the least constraint
Abstract
We analytically construct an optimal control (here, acting external force), which ensures a reservoir with a liquid to move according with a given law. For this purpose, Gauss’ variational principle of the least constraint was employed that makes it possible to minimise the energy providing the programming motion of the mechanical system. The proposed approach was applied to solve the racing problem for the originally unmoving tank, which should reach the given translatory velocity at the end.
