On oscillatory symmetric motions in the three-body problem

Abstract

We study a special case of the three-body problem where two of the bodies are the same mass and there is a manifold of symmetrical motions. We consider sufficient conditions of nonexistence of oscillating symmetric motions. To analyze stability, we substantially rely on the structure of the manifold of symmetric motions.
